Balneario Caldas de Luna

The pool was nice, and we could reserve an hour each day during our stay. The massage, though, was a horrible experience. The masseuse told me to keep my own underwear on instead of providing disposable underwear. My clothes and even the mask I was told to wear got oily. She massaged my face beneath the mask, but didn't give me a fresh one for the massage. I couldn't wash afterward because someone else was booked right after me, so I had to go straight back to my room. I've never left a massage feeling more stressed. The waiters were attentive, though there wasn't much they could offer. Breakfast was awful, with very dry bread only fit for ducks and old fruit. Reception staff weren't friendly and acted as if our stay was a problem. We went for the weekend and it really wasn't a good experience.

The food was excellent, and the staff were fantastic, so helpful and engaging. It's in a wonderful mountain setting.

A good spot.

Dinner was the weak point for us. It was quite expensive for what was offered, and felt more like a cheap buffet than a proper hotel meal. The menu could be a lot better. Breakfast, by contrast, had great quality and variety. We had a very pleasant, comfortable stay and would definitely come back. The rooms were wonderfully quiet and had everything we could need. The staff were excellent, especially in the spa and dining room. The woman in the spa and Manuela in the dining room were both lovely. It's a great place to spend a night or two in a peaceful rural setting and relax. The spa circuit was quite comprehensive and never felt overcrowded, since they limit how many people can enter at a time. We'd highly recommend it as a break from the daily hustle and bustle.
