Acanthus Suites

The place was really cute and cozy, and it came with everything we needed, even two TVs. There are air conditioning units on both floors of the duplex, which was lucky because we visited in winter and it felt a little cold inside, as you might expect on the ground floor. Opening the sofa bed made the rooms feel cramped. I also found the cantilevered stairs easy to trip on, and the bathroom downstairs was much too small. Without those issues, I’d have rated it five stars.

Set on a quiet side street, the apartment was peaceful. It’s only about five minutes from Seville’s main shopping street, and right beside a museum that EU citizens can enter for free.

The apartment had everything I needed, and I liked it overall. The quiet street and good soundproofing meant I couldn’t hear people in the other apartments, and I found the entry code much more convenient than a key. I’d stay here again. There were a few things I missed, though. The bedroom needs a blind, since the curtains still let in too much light for a nap. At night, light from the street also comes through the high window, although closing the curtains properly takes care of that. There’s a skylight between the bedroom and the living room/kitchen, so light from that area can bother you if you go to bed early. A table lamp would help. There was also very little toilet paper, and only a mop handle, with no mop. It’s next to the Seville Museum of Fine Arts.

The staff/owner were the best part, with great communication and help tracking down my lost laptop. The apartment itself was clean, tidy, and well equipped, in a great spot for exploring Seville.
