Activa Corral del Rey

The staff really made our five-day stay, taking care of the details and being wonderful throughout. Rocio, Sara, Patricia, Carlos and Daily (?) were phenomenal. Our room was spacious and lovely, with a seating area, and the hotel is close to everything. Breakfast service was excellent too. We had a wonderful visit, and I highly recommend it.

The location worked really well, within an easy walk of the main sights, bars, and restaurants. Before we arrived, communication was very good, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. They even prepared breakfast to go for our early tour. We spent nine nights between a suite and a standard room at Corral del Rey Hotel. Both were well appointed, had good bathroom amenities, and were quiet, with air conditioning and heating. The included continental breakfast was good, though it got repetitive over a long stay, and eggs and other hot dishes cost extra. Food outside breakfast was average. The in-room coffee machine was old and leaked, and we only got two small complimentary bottles of water on arrival for all nine nights. The shared keypad codes for entry also felt less hygienic than contactless key cards. The rooms were comfortable, but the rates felt high for what was offered. Value for money: 2 stars. More troubling, our card was charged twice even though we’d settled the bill the night before leaving. The hotel refunded the extra charge after some email exchanges, but we’re still sorting out the currency difference with our card issuer. The stay itself was comfortable, but that left a disappointing final impression.

The pre-arrival help was the standout for me. They went out of their way to get things ready, with great restaurant suggestions, help booking key sights, and anything else we needed to plan the trip. Our room was spacious and lovely, with a huge shower, though some furniture could use an update. The location near Alfalfa Square was terrific, and the Cathedral is a short walk away. There’s also a Carrefour small grocery store about a block away for wine, beer, water, or snacks. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully prepared. Staff were polite and helpful, and left us a bottle of champagne for our birthday and anniversary celebrations. We enjoyed staying at Corral del Rey.

The staff were especially helpful when our trains to Granada were canceled on our last day. They talked us through the options and helped us choose what to do. During the rest of our stay, we walked everywhere from the hotel, and the breakfast was the best we had on our Spain trip. We were given an upgraded room for the whole stay to celebrate a special occasion. It was spacious, with original historical pieces and striking historical decor, while the bed and bathroom were modern. I’m convinced this is the best hotel in Seville, and the best one we stayed at in Spain. If I return to Seville, I won’t look at other options, and I’ll recommend it to family and friends. Thank you!
