The pod was my choice, and the showers and bathrooms were really clean. Futurotel is in a good spot, about a 15-minute walk from Seville’s busy tourist areas, with a shopping district around the corner that has brands I’d never heard of. The staff were attentive and kind, and went out of their way to help. The room’s AC was extremely cold, though, and I ended up catching a cold.

The only thing that gave us pause was the price. It seemed steep, though Seville was packed with a football match and a major festival starting around the same time, which probably pushed rates up. I’d never tried a capsule-style place before, and the double-bed capsule surprised me in a good way. There was plenty of room to relax, it felt private, and it was much quieter than I expected. The futuristic feel made it fun. The staff were great, especially the woman on the evening shift, who was so kind, welcoming, and helpful. A unique, enjoyable stay if you’re curious about capsule accommodation.
The capsules are roomy and have TVs, with colorful ambient lighting that makes the place feel like a spaceship. It was clean and conveniently located, and there’s always someone at reception overnight. A really cool capsule hostel, I recommend it.
We booked a bedroom with a private bathroom, but at check-in the staff took us to a capsule instead. We tried explaining that there must have been a booking mistake, but they said their system showed we had reserved two capsules. After that, they weren’t helpful and told us to contact Booking. Booking sent us back to reception. In the end we slept in a capsule with no AC, where it was almost 30C, and had to use a shared bathroom. Some guests didn’t know how to use it. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. It felt like a very shady business.
The place was clean and the staff were nice, and the location was good. I’m 60, and I thought it was OK. I could stay again if I had to, though a lot of mature guests seemed misled by social media, and I saw people with mobility issues asking reception for refunds. It caters mostly to a younger crowd. It’s more like a sleepover at futurohostel than a hotel, and calling it an upmarket hostel would have saved people a lot of stress.
