Hostal Paco's

A lovely place, and my room was small but comfortable and clean. It was close to downtown.

Communication was awful. We told them in the booking.com chat to try the card again and gave our expected arrival time. The host even said there was a 24-hour check-in desk, so we could arrive whenever. But the hotel cancelled our stay, saying the credit card had been declined and we hadn’t answered messages asking us to update the card details. That wasn’t true. When we got there, they again said the card had been declined. I told them the card issue was fixed and asked them to try again. Instead, the host sent us to a paid(?!) parking garage ten minutes away on foot. Nothing on booking said it was a ten-minute walk, across scorching hot asphalt, with a dog. After we parked and walked back, they said the booking was cancelled because we hadn’t replied. Luckily, we didn’t have to pay anything, though they hadn’t been able to charge the card anyway :’D. Why have us drive there and pay for parking before cancelling?

The doors and windows have no seals, so it felt like sleeping right out on the street. Everything inside is made cheaply, in the bad way. This place could be improved a lot. I’d say a room here is worth no more than 15-20€ a night. I’d rather sleep in a tent.

They make you pay before you see the room, which is understandable, but I ended up paying more than four times what the place is worth. My room was behind the lobby, noisy, smelled bad, and even had a nail in the bed. The staff were horrible too. This hostel feels like a fraud and is worth at best 15e a night. Don’t go.
