Hotel Vincci Selección Unuk 5* GL

The suite upgrade was much appreciated. It was spacious, stylish, and comfortable, and most of Seville’s major sights are within walking distance. The location is one of Vincci Unuk Sevilla’s best features, and the rooms are very nice. Still, after four nights and about £1,050, the facilities didn’t feel quite like those of a five-star hotel. Breakfast costs about £26 per person extra. The spread was decent but limited, and not especially gourmet or extensive compared with the five-star buffets I’m used to at chains like Hilton or Marriott. The gym was tiny, had no machines, and its worn equipment didn’t look well maintained. The rooftop sunbed area also seemed dirty and neglected, and even the pleasant pool felt ordinary and a little poorly maintained for a hotel marketed as luxury. Service was polite and professional, but not especially warm or memorable, despite reviews describing the hospitality as exceptional. With the price and five-star rating, the amenities felt underwhelming. Better upkeep on the roof, a stronger breakfast, and improvements to the gym would make the advertised luxury experience more convincing.

The room was new and clean, the furniture was good, and the staff were super friendly. That’s about the only positive I can give it. I paid $440 a night for a room with no real view, just a window onto an internal balcony and a sliver of sky at the top. Breakfast was a complete joke. There’s no buffet, which could be fine if the table service were good, but I waited 30 minutes for an over-fried omelet that came with bacon instead of salmon. It was the first five-star hotel where I had to go somewhere else to find food. I’ve stayed in around 200 hotels across 55 countries, so I have a point of comparison. For Four Seasons money, this felt like an Ibis level hotel with a Holiday Inn level breakfast, nowhere near Radisson or Hilton despite costing more. I honestly think the Booking and Google Maps ratings may be fake or manipulated. You can find much better hotels with great views and a genuinely good breakfast for half the price.

We stayed one night as a backup option. It wasn’t the best hotel in Seville, and for the price I think there are better deals. One nice touch when we checked out was a small bottle of olive oil, which I loved. The good toiletries were worth mentioning too, probably the only distinctive thing in the room.

The location was right in the middle of everything, yet the hotel stayed calm and comfortable. I had a lovely three night stay at Vincci Selección Unuk. My room was beautiful, with a very comfortable bed, good air conditioning, and Clarins products. The pool and lounge are compact, but just right for cooling down in the afternoon after being out in the sun. Coffee, cava, water, and snacks were available at reception, a thoughtful touch. The team were warm, professional, attentive, and excellent. I’m already looking forward to coming back.
