JOY Plaza de Armas

The rooftop terrace is a fantastic place to relax, with an incredible view and a pool. The location also makes sightseeing easy. This was the best hostel I've stayed in, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Stella, who welcomed us, helped whenever we needed something, and always had a big smile. Don't hesitate to book!

The people I met here are ones I'll never forget, though I know that depends somewhat on who happens to be staying there. The beds were comfy, with good storage, and the views and location were beautiful. Staff were friendly and helpful too. Breakfast was cheap but tasty, and happy hour was great. A phenomenal hostel and an amazing stay for me. Highly recommend it. The photo is the view from the rooftop, the best spot to be.

The staff were super friendly, and reception was always staffed if we needed anything. There were lots of events, including paella night, a flamenco dance class, and a daily city tour. We didn't join in because we ran out of time. The communal kitchen and seating area were useful, and the terrace was a good size, with comfy seats and a very cheap bar. Our private room was a good size for a hostel, the bathroom was fine, and the room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. The shower was tiny but had one of the strongest water flows we've ever had. The place is really central in Seville. The pool is very small, and the photos make it look bigger, so I wouldn't choose this place for the pool. With people coming and going and thin walls, you can hear a lot, so bring earplugs. We had a great stay!

The staff were mostly kind, especially the bar and cleaning teams, but my email about the problems got no response. The pool was unavailable for my whole stay even though it was listed online for those dates, and it was the main reason many of us booked. The rest of the facilities were poor too. The kitchen is tiny for a hostel this size. Both rooms felt overcrowded and unsafe. In the first, my bed was in the middle with nothing to stop me falling, and there were no curtains, so I had no privacy. Ten people shared one bathroom there, which was difficult. In the second room, a huge pillar blocked the ladder, making it hard to climb up, and the beds were so close my feet were an inch from someone else's head. They clearly put more beds in than the room was meant to hold. I wouldn't rate it this low if the facilities had been better.
