Sweet Sevilla Suites - Smart Hotel

The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well once I got it started. There's a window sensor that turns it off when the window is opened. The location is excellent, with anywhere in the city center reachable in about 20 minutes on foot. We stayed just one night. I was disappointed when we arrived to find a room clearly smaller and different from the one I'd booked. The balcony mattered a lot to me, but what they call a balcony was just a large window and a 10 cm step outside. The room was very tight for two, with barely space to walk beside the bed, and there were hairs from previous guests in the bathroom. The pool is tiny, maybe enough for 2-3 people. There was nobody on site to help or explain things. I contacted them through Booking/WhatsApp about the room, and they said it was what I'd booked and that any misleading photos were Booking.com's fault. But the property supplies the photos itself. For the price, I think you can find better. If you do stay, expect somewhere to sleep and little else.

We really liked being able to leave our bags in a locked room. The location was perfect, and our room was nice and clean. The shared kitchen had all the equipment we needed.

The location was the one real positive, it was excellent. I had just returned from a stay at Sweet Sevillas in Seville, and was very disappointed by the rest. A few days before arriving, we emailed to request twin beds and were told that would be fine. Our flights were delayed, so we got there at 1 am and found the room made up with a double bed. There are no staff on site. Contact is by phone or an automated WhatsApp chat, which was useless and only sent automatic replies. I called several times before finally reaching someone who arranged for the beds to be changed. The place is called a Boutique hotel, but it looked very tired to me. We went up to see the plunge pool and found only two sun loungers for eight rooms, which isn't enough. There was a dead bird on the terrace, and the metal handrail by the pool steps was loose and coming away from the wall, a clear safety hazard. The back of the hairdryer in our room was held on with cello tape, another safety concern and something inexpensive to replace. The air conditioning was supposedly provided but was broken. I also expected a balcony from the booking, but it was just an external metal railing with nowhere to step out. All we could do was open a window shutter. The website photos didn't reflect what we found.

We finally got into the building after an hour, which was incredibly frustrating. They hadn't sent the front door code, and it was impossible to reach anyone by phone. The no-lobby, no-front-desk idea would usually be fine, but there was absolutely no way to get help when we had a problem. The room and bed were okay, though the rooms are small and utilitarian. We were on the first floor, sharing a patio with the neighboring unit. Their half's light shone into our room all night if they left it on, like a spotlight, and the curtains weren't wide enough to cover the window. I was glad to leave Sweet Seville.
