Apartamentos GHM Plaza

We booked an apartment in the plaza so we could stay with friends who’d booked the same place. Instead, ours was on the other side of the village, not even in the same block. It was dark, mouldy, and unacceptable. Meeting someone to get the key was a nightmare too. Booking.com advised us to leave and said they would refund us, but nothing has come back. I clicked cancel in the app and should get at least 75% back. The property refuses to return any money, while Booking.com keeps blaming the property and hasn’t helped, even after hours on the phone over the last couple of weeks. I’ve sent them all the proof. A complete shambles from both sides.

We were trying to change the date because a family member had been seriously hospitalized, but they flatly refused. It took several attempts before we could even get in touch with them. I’ve been coming to Sierra Nevada around 10 times a year for years, and I’ve never been treated this badly. The company also runs places like Monte Gorbea and Bulgaria. They have no humanity and only care about your money.

I wouldn’t stay there again even if it were free. The Sabica apartments in Plaza de Andalucía are in a deplorable state. There were cobwebs and lint in the corners, dust on the lights, and the floor was laid so badly you could see the terrace through the gaps. The bathroom was disgusting, with visible mold in the shower and elsewhere. We had to ask for sheets. They’d only left a duvet and a bottom sheet, which clearly hadn’t been changed, and the duvet had semen stains. It looked like there hadn’t been a proper deep clean since Franco died, or even basic maintenance. We told the “owner” or manager about it. They said they’d arrange a deep clean the next day, but nobody showed up. A total disappointment.

The mattresses were uncomfortable, and the apartment didn’t have the double bed we’d requested. For heating, there were two radiators with their wheels missing. There wasn’t a reception, so they sent someone with the keys, but he took 35 minutes to arrive. At least the bathroom had been renovated, with a nice, roomy shower.
