Hotel-SPA El Molino de Alcuneza

Dinner was one of the best parts of our stay. They made me a vegetarian tasting menu that was just as good as the one for my omnivore companion, and the regional wines were unusual and excellent. Breakfast was another highlight. We stayed in a suite because that was the only room available. It was lovely, with a spacious sitting and dining area downstairs and a well-proportioned bedroom and bathroom upstairs, along with an outdoor terrace. The hotel is in a small village a few kilometers from Sigüenza. A walking and cycling trail links it to town and the surrounding area, making it a good starting point for either kind of trip. We had a fantastic stay, and there’s even an EV charging point. I’d highly recommend it.

Everyone was attentive and kind without hovering, and I loved that dogs are welcome. My dog had a great time too. The food was outstanding, even though the Michelin star restaurant wasn’t serving its menu in August. The hotel feels serene and beautifully cared for, with a luxurious touch that doesn’t come off as pretentious. The pool, lawn, and gardens are fantastic. We spent a couple of days at this wonderful, cozy place, less than two hours from Madrid. Una joya de hotel, espero volver.

I especially liked how they give you a small card with the scheduled dinner and spa reservations, which helps the stay run smoothly. Breakfast was wonderful, served by cheerful staff, with all the favorites done to a high standard. The team is multilingual, thoughtful, and helpful throughout. It’s a quiet countryside location, away from the city noise, and Siguenza is just a few minutes away. The comfortable, well-appointed rooms would work well for a longer stay, and the calm made it easy to sleep. A great stay. Enjoy!

The nearby Río Dulce hike is wonderful, and there’s also a country gravel road close by for walking or running. The hotel was smaller than I expected, but the service was great and they kindly welcomed us with a gift. Although the train passes nearby, you hardly hear it, especially at night, when it doesn’t run. The Wi-Fi and toiletries like shampoo and conditioner could be better. I’ll go back when they reopen next year.
