We ended up booking late in the day, so there weren’t many other options. This wouldn’t be my first choice of hostal. I didn’t like the first room they showed us because it had no en-suite, but for a few euros extra ;) we got one and slept well enough. We ate there for two days, and the food was quite good. Good value for money.

I had already paid before seeing the room, so there was no chance to go to another hostel. An Englishman and I both wanted to leave, but the payment was done. They make you book a single room to get more money. The photos don’t match reality at all: everything is very old, and there’s an overpowering smell of rats. The worst hostel I’ve stayed in on the Camino de Santiago.

We slept really well before our competition, and the fairgrounds were only a 10-minute walk away. The hostel is also close to the city center. It’s simple but cozy, with very friendly staff who clearly want guests to be happy. We had dinner at the restaurant and enjoyed it. Prices for both the room and food seemed average, perhaps even low.
