Hotel Medium Renaixença

The old building has a lot of character, and I loved the decor. Breakfast was excellent too. The drawback is how easily sound carries through the walls. If your neighbors don’t keep to quiet hours, getting to sleep can be hard. Even so, I’d recommend staying here for the experience of the historic place.

The shared spaces and terrace were nice, but my ground floor room, number 3, had some real issues. The fan rattled and wobbled so much that I worried it might fall, and it didn’t feel safe. The hotel entrance door is very heavy and slams loudly each time someone comes in. With guests arriving at all hours, I lost a lot of sleep. You need a physical key for the hotel entrance, then a card key for your room. Breakfast costs 12 euros, which doesn’t seem worthwhile unless you eat a lot in the morning.

Hotel Medium Renaixença was a great place to stay. My room was comfortable and stayed spotless thanks to the thorough cleaning. The WiFi was both fast and reliable, and it’s an easy walk to the beach and local shops. I’d happily recommend it.

We booked through easyjet holidays just 11 days before arriving, mainly because the price suited our budget, and ended up enjoying the stay. The room was a decent size, with a bath and shower, wooden ceiling beams, nice decor, a mini fridge and a large wardrobe. The air conditioning and high speed fan cooled it quickly. Our window was small, so there wasn’t much daylight, though we weren’t in the room much. We chose not to have a balcony. The bed and room decor matched the pictures, but some photos on booking sites show Hotel Romantic, especially the buffet, so bear that in mind. There’s no reception at this hotel. For check in, breakfast, drinks or luggage storage, you walk 30 seconds around the corner to Hotel Romantic. There are phones in the room and lobby for contacting reception. If you’re a couple booking a double or twin room, it’s worth calling to request a double bed. They can push the twin beds together the next day if you ask. The walls are thin, and we could hear the people next door using the bathroom and shower, which felt strange. Aside from that, the room was clean and we had a lovely stay. Housekeeping and reception staff were very sweet. Next time, we’d try Hotel Romantic or the other one.
