The village and the place itself are cute, but the stay had a lot of problems. We waited 30 minutes because our room wasn’t ready, and nobody offered anything while we waited, not even a glass of water. We were told which room was ours but weren’t shown it, and got no information about Wi-Fi or breakfast. We hadn’t asked for dinner on Airbnb because we thought we could request it later, as we’ve done in other places, but were told that wasn’t possible, so we had to drive another 30 minutes to the next village for food. The walls are paper thin, and we heard everything from the other rooms. The old, worn mattress had a deep dip in the middle that we kept falling into. In summer the room gets boiling hot, with only a tiny ceiling window, so we had to sleep with the main door open just to breathe. The doors have no keys, and there was no toilet paper in the morning. At 43 euros, it was far from worth it.

The village has no services, though there’s a small menu here with alcohol. It’s a clean, cozy spot in the middle of a charming old village, surrounded by beautiful mountains and lovely trails. The owner, staff, and villagers are all friendly. A little Catalan or Spanish helps outside the refugi. They have lots of maps, including ones for more serious hikes. I’d love to return and spend longer in the valley.

What a shame, given the lovely location. The hostel was a nightmare and felt so dirty I was afraid to touch anything. The bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom were all disgusting. There were only three other guests while we were there, yet the place still wasn’t properly maintained. We stayed one night and asked for a refund the next day, but the host refused. I really can’t recommend it.

The people were lovely and friendly, and the views were wonderful. There are so many paths that you can spend all day walking in nature. It’s the best place I’ve ever stayed.
