Hospederia Almundo

The staff were quite responsive on WhatsApp and helped us sort out a lot. The rooms were clean and big enough. But we were exhausted and found the IKEA beds really uncomfortable. We could also hear noise from other rooms’ faucets until the middle of the night, and some of the lamps didn’t work.

We arrived at the hotel at 10 pm, but there was nowhere for us to park. I’d called ahead, been told parking was available, and had a booking reserved, but the man there was rude and said he could only let me park for 50 minutes. I explained what I’d been told on the phone and he wasn’t interested. We were left trying to find somewhere to stay so late at night. There’s no parking available, despite what the listing says, and they’ll lie to you on the phone.

We arrived at 8:15 pm with a reservation, but the receptionist wouldn’t check us in because their policy said check-in ended at 8. She was rude and unwelcoming, and wouldn’t refund our money either. They could simply have left the apartment key somewhere so we could get in, but instead we were left without accommodation in Tarifa at 8:30. I’ve never been treated like that as a client. Stay away from this place and that receptionist.

It wasn’t the best room, though it was clean and serviced every day. There was a TV and the bathroom was nicely tiled, but no safe. Some electrical contacts had bare wires sticking out. There’s a shared kitchen area where you can eat your own breakfast and have coffee.
