Apartamento Confortable En Ciudad

For the price, I thought this apartment was excellent, and I would recommend it. I've stayed in several apartments in Spanish cities and liked this one a lot. Its location isn't ideal, though it's not bad, and there are shops such as a supermarket and pharmacy nearby. I'd bring coffee, sugar, and water.

The accommodation and the price were just right, so five stars from me. The owner is responsive and always available.

It's a fairly quiet place and reasonably well-equipped, with air conditioning, so it could do for a night or two. But it could use more investment. It wasn't especially clean, there was a strange burnt-match smell, and walking barefoot on the floor felt unpleasant. The two so-called extra beds are fold-out sofas, probably the most uncomfortable beds I've slept on. The bathroom also needs another light. The surrounding area is pretty ugly and dirty.

The building itself was filthy and run-down, with grime streaks around the elevator that were simply unacceptable. Inside, the kitchen was greasy, dirty, and rotten, as the attached photos show. The bathroom wall had a squashed cockroach when we arrived, apparently left there after the previous guests killed it and without the bathroom being cleaned. The old mattress was too soft and uncomfortable, and the duvet had no sheet and was covered in the previous guests' hair. The musty odor was unbearable. We ended up finding a hotel in Tarragona for our second night, luckily. We sent a photo of the cockroach to our contact person and got no reply. They were quick to take and demand our money, but not to keep the apartment even minimally clean. A truly repugnant experience.
