Tamarit Beach Resort

I’m very disappointed with this expensive stay. The bungalow lost electricity for many hours, and restoring it meant switching off equipment, so we had no fridge or other appliances. The restaurant was slow and expensive, with very small portions. We paid 150 euros for four people and still left hungry, so we had to eat more back at the bungalow. The place was also very noisy. Staff started making noise at 7.30 am, and I had to go out and ask them to be quiet. It didn’t feel worth the price or value, and the resort doesn’t seem customer-friendly. I also had a serious problem changing my booking after I was hospitalized. I asked to move the dates, and the day before they told me to send medical proof. I did, but they cancelled the reservation anyway and kept my money. They said it was because I hadn’t had surgery. The booking didn’t say changes weren’t allowed, and they had told me documentation would let me change the reservation. Now they say they’ll only refund me if I have surgery, a condition that wasn’t in the reservation. I feel they treated me unfairly and cheated me. I’ve reported them to my lawyer to escalate it as fraud, and I plan to report it to all the authorities, including the Tax Authorities. I want others to know what happened. I’ll never come back. It’s not just about the money, it’s the attitude, and now I’ll lose my prepayment.

The beach and quiet surroundings made staying here feel like a real treat. The bungalows and camping pitches sit in a lovely natural stretch of coast, and there are sports facilities, activities for children, and a spa that's especially appealing in the evening. Picking one of the different bungalow options is a good way to have a more relaxed stay.

The worst part was being left outside our bungalow with a baby after we had already sorted out the payment. Our key card had been deactivated, and a security guard told us reception was looking for us. The Reservations Manager had forgotten to give us the newly activated card, even though we'd just come from reception. We arrived at about 23:30 after Booking.com had accepted my request for check-in between 23:00 and 00:00. The property says check-in is available until 12:00 AM, but reception had already shut, reportedly at 22:00, so we had to use the Control Unit kiosk by the reception building. I entered my ID and our vehicle's license plate number and completed check-in there. Later that night, an email said our booking had been cancelled as a “no-show” and a partial refund had been started automatically. I went to reception the next morning to ask what had happened. They told me to come back later to speak with the Reservations Manager, so I had to interrupt my vacation to fix what seemed to be a staff communication failure. Since the refund had already gone through, I had to pay that amount again. At first, the manager tried to charge more than my original Booking.com rate. She accepted the correct amount only after I insisted and showed her the refund in my bank account. I spent a lot of time calling Booking.com customer service, and they said the mistake came from the hotel's side. Reception staff said the opposite and blamed Booking.com. I also heard from other guests about similar payment problems and staff miscommunication. Advertising check-in until midnight while closing reception earlier and failing to coordinate caused avoidable stress and disruption, especially with a baby. I stayed polite throughout, but after more than six years working professionally in hospitality, I've never encountered this level of disorganization in all my travels. The property needs serious operational and professional improvement. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it, because this kind of mismanagement can ruin a holiday.

Mireia at reception was cheerful, welcoming, and especially helpful. We had a lovely time on the camping pitches at Tamarit Beach Resort. The site is in a spectacular spot, kept in very good condition, and has activities people of all ages can enjoy. We'll definitely come back to Tamarit Beach Resort. 👍🏻👍🏻
