Allsun Hotel Albatros

The hotel felt peaceful, the beach was close by, and our room was cleaned very well. We also really enjoyed the food. We had a very nice vacation and would recommend it to everyone!!☺️

The cats around the property were lovely, and the location is handy for shops and the city centre. But the problems outweighed those positives. The rooms weren’t cleaned daily, and the bedsheets were dirty when I arrived, which is unacceptable. The bathroom looked neglected, with an unattractive shower, peeling ceiling paint from the moisture, and a dusty ventilation grate with parts missing. The buffet was disappointing too: limited choice, bland food, and just one long table mirrored on both sides, with little variety. The dessert and salad tables didn’t help much, and plates and cutlery were often dirty. Nearly everything, including entertainment, buffet labels, and signs, was in German, which was frustrating if you don’t speak it. Drinks were limited to Pepsi, no Coke. The lack of wristbands seemed like a nice way to avoid a tan line, but caused trouble if you looked young and couldn’t prove you were an adult, as bar staff wouldn’t serve you. It’s an unnecessary policy that hurt the experience. The hotel needs to improve cleanliness, food, room upkeep, and guest experience to meet even the basic expectations of the 4 star standard it presents. For us, the cats and location were the only redeeming points.

The beach is just a two minute walk away, the hotel was spotless, and everyone we met was friendly, both guests and staff. We were a bit hesitant about booking a German hotel, wondering if we’d understand the food and other guests, but we’re glad we did. The food was great, and our room was lovely, especially the sunny spot where our daughter could nap. We’ve just come back from our holiday and thought the hotel was brilliant. Would recommend it to anyone.

The employees were fantastic and always upbeat. The kids club was a great experience, with caring, friendly staff, and we met lots of nice people. Rooms were clean, there was plenty of pool space, and the hotel controlled the sunbed reservations by putting down a hand towel. Photo360 was a great experience with great service. There were a few frustrating charges: a €10 deposit for each pool towel, then €1.50 to exchange it for a fresh one, and €3 per day to use the room safe. On departure day, breakfast was 45 minutes before the restaurant opened. I asked for a pancake for my 2 year old daughter while they were cooking them and had a full pan ready, but was told no. Lunch and dinner both had long waits regardless of when we arrived. They fixed the dinner queue after five or six days, but should have fixed lunch too. All the drinks, including wine, alcohol, and soda, were no name brands. Young children were in the gym without adult supervision, which felt dangerous and not at all controlled.
