The distance worried us after reading the reviews, but getting to the main beach turned out to be a pleasant walk. There’s a supermarket, bars and cafes about five minutes away, and the main square is around a 20-minute walk or a quick taxi ride. You can hire electric chairs and scooters at the hotel, too. We had a great weekend at Costa bastion. The foyer looked stunning, check-in was easy, and the staff were welcoming and happy to help. Our room was cleaned daily, and our things were left untouched. The housekeepers were friendly and trustworthy. There was plenty of food to choose from, with dishes changing each day. The sunbathing area is large, with no need to rush for a lounger and no towel saving allowed. The palm trees gave us some welcome shade. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked clean, and staff were regularly mopping and picking up litter. Smoking is allowed in designated areas by the pool bar and reception, and on balconies. We had such a good time that we’re thinking of coming back with the kids. The hotel seems like a place they’d love. Thanks for a really enjoyable stay.

The weather was the one disappointment, but that’s outside the hotel’s control. We met some lovely people during our week and would happily come back. We’d been unsure after reading some bad reviews, but the hotel was fabulous and really clean. Our room was spacious, had tea and coffee facilities, and was tidied every day by helpful staff. The reception and bar teams were pleasant and attentive. The food was okay, and we always found enough to eat. There was entertainment every evening, which was a nice surprise in January. The team worked hard to get everyone involved, and we had a lot of fun, especially with Rachel and the two lads whose names I can’t remember. Liana was great doing the 360 camera, which we also really enjoyed.

The town is looking great after the work done following the April 2025 floods. It was our third time in Costa Teguise, and we could see improvements around the place. The coast path takes about 30 minutes to reach the centre, with a scenic stretch past a cactus garden that was being looked after while we were there. The direct walk is closer to 20 minutes. We’ve just had a fantastic five-night stay at Bluesea Costa Bastion. Our room was modern, spacious and had everything we needed. The staff were excellent, especially the friendly housekeeping team. They kept the rooms, corridors, pool and bar areas spotless. The restaurant was roomy and clean, with a good range of food and something different to try alongside the usual options. The roasted meats were always tasty. My only small gripe was that the tea and coffee machines were switched on only at breakfast, though the bars served hot drinks all day.

The pools were a bit cold because they aren’t heated, which was the one thing I didn’t enjoy. We stayed for five days for my friend’s birthday, and I was impressed by how friendly everyone was. Stephane, Sandra, Jose and the others were lovely, helpful, fun and attentive. The food was really tasty, and I’d strongly recommend going all inclusive. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the hotel facilities were so good we didn’t feel like leaving.

The food was fine for what I’d expect from a 3-star all-inclusive, and most dishes had clear labels, including allergen information. The package itself was okay, though lots of things cost extra or required a cash deposit. I also don’t see a reason to book direct: the advertised perks didn’t pan out. There was no early or late checkout available, even in mid-January, and the supposedly free pool towels required a €10 deposit that anyone could use. The rooms were acceptable, but stuffy, with air conditioning that didn’t work and a frequent sewage smell. We saw ants and cockroaches. Cleaning seemed limited to making the beds and folding damp towels; surfaces and floors weren’t wiped during our stay. One day housekeeping left the door open, and they also came in without knocking while our do-not-disturb sign was up. The facilities were decent but not especially well maintained. Of the two jacuzzis, one was cold and the other only warm, not hot. A sign said to book them the day before. This is a 3-star hotel, and I don’t understand why they claim it’s 4-star. They don’t charge 4-star prices, either.
