El Guarapo Apartamentos

The beach is right at the bottom of the road, and there are lots of nice bars and restaurants just a short walk away. We had five fabulous nights here. The apartment was clean, with a huge, comfortable bed, and reception staff were really friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be back. It’s a little gem.

We didn’t try the pool, though it’s heated to 24 degrees. Reception closes at 17:00, but they sent everything we needed to get into the apartment and complex through WhatsApp or email. It’s a quiet spot, with a nice park around the complex for walking the dog. The apartment was clean and well equipped, and it’s dog friendly. The breakfast was fantastic, service very friendly, and free street parking was handy.

We only booked two nights and wished we’d stayed longer. The complex was beautiful, and our apartment was excellent, very clean, and had everything we needed. The team were helpful and friendly throughout, with great communication on WhatsApp. We were warmly welcomed at reception by a lovely, helpful staff member. The beach, local shops, and restaurants are only a short walk away. We booked on Saturday and arrived Monday.

The apartment felt dirty and neglected, and that really affected our stay. We arrived to find it unclean, and even after asking for housekeeping straight away, there was still other people’s hair, fluff, and debris under the beds and furniture. Once we cleaned the kitchen and bathroom ourselves, it was even clearer how poorly it had been cleaned. We’d seen earlier reviews mentioning cleanliness, but it didn’t seem anything had improved. The furniture and linens were in bad shape too. The bedding had holes, the towels were very worn, and the beds and pillows were so poor we barely slept. The pillows were lumpy, the bed kept shifting, and its metal feet scraped loudly across the tiled floor whenever it moved. There were stains on the cushioned bed frame, plus dirt, fingerprints, and spill marks on the furniture, walls, and wardrobes. Housekeeping came only twice during our week, and all they did was empty bins and change towels. On the other days, we had to empty the bins ourselves. We also bought basic cleaning supplies because washing liquid, surface cleaner, dishcloths, and a tea towel weren’t provided or replaced. The place has potential, which makes it a shame. We like supporting smaller local accommodation, but this fell short of the basic standards needed for a comfortable stay. Friends staying elsewhere told us there are much better places in the area. We left the apartment cleaner than we found it and won’t return.
