Ca la Llum

The decor throughout the house has a lovely Catalan feel, and it really is beautiful. But the steep indoor stairs are hard to climb, and with kids you have to be very careful because they feel dangerous. The house promotes its indoor barbecue and jacuzzi, but our jacuzzi experience was awful, and nobody offered a solution or any concession. Before using it, I called the owner to warn him about the issue and ask what could be done. I thought he might come by with insecticide or something, but nothing. I decided to bathe my child first with bubbles, expecting a special moment, and took photos and video. As soon as I pressed the jacuzzi's bubble button, loads of flying ants came out at once. My child started crying, and they flew all over the bathroom. They also came into the master bedroom, so I put a towel under the door. I spent two hours dealing with my child's fear, killing the ants as they kept appearing, and calling the owner. He said they were unpredictable village things and didn't bite. I couldn't use that bathroom after that, and kept killing them with the scrubber (motxo). My son got to use the jacuzzi for just a minute before he was scared, and we gave up. The ants kept coming whenever the water warmed up and the jacuzzi started. Honestly, it was disgusting. The owner said there was a nest and that this can happen depending on where it is and during the jacuzzi's first few days of use. That makes it sound like it's a known possibility, and I doubt this was the first day. I understand he's not responsible for there being a nest, but we paid for a service we couldn't use and had a miserable time. He said he'd already sprayed, which wasn't an acceptable response and didn't solve anything. It ruined my night. We had to go downstairs and use the other bathroom. We did walk.
