Hotel Altora

We arrived in the evening and got an SMS with a link we had to fill in to access our room. Luckily we had internet, or we wouldn’t have checked in. There’s nobody at reception, day or night, and when you try to contact the hotel you get a robot. WhatsApp was the only way we could reach them. The room was meant to be non-smoking, but smoke from neighboring rooms came in. Soundproofing was zero, and a neighbor kept knocking until 2 a.m. There was a radiator, but it didn’t work, and neither did the climate control. I’m pregnant, and we froze on the first night. We messaged them, and the manager replied that they had no spare radiator or blanket. We then asked for our money back for the remaining nights because what had been promised wasn’t provided. My husband requested a refund on December 27; they said they’d respond as soon as possible. It’s January 4 now, and nobody has contacted us. The attitude toward guests was terrible, and I hope the hotel is shut down because the information given before booking doesn’t match what they provide. This was the worst hotel my husband and I have stayed in. It doesn’t deserve even one star.

We never got checked in, so we had to leave and find another place to stay. There was no reception, nobody answered the phone, and no one even opened the door. We’d prepaid the full amount for five nights, and it wasn’t refundable. It used to be a hotel, but now it seems to run on autopilot, collecting non-refundable bookings. Avoid it at all costs. We had a horrible experience.

They provided a radiator when the heating wasn’t working, which we appreciated. The room itself was spacious, clean, and very well maintained. The breakfast buffet could use more food options.

The room was very comfortable and beautiful. The hotel itself was fine too.
