We went for dinner with two friends on Spanish national day, when most restaurants were closed. My friends' meals were fine, with good portions and well cooked, but mine was a letdown. I ordered lamb chops and got ribs with almost no meat. The piece shown in the attached picture was from my friends, who gave it to me so I'd have something to eat. The bread came individually wrapped in plastic and was clearly cheap, store-bought bread. The owner's wine recommendation was awful, so I left it. We ate twice at Possadia El Arriero down the street and had a great experience both times, with good food and a friendly waiter. I'd suggest going there instead.

The 300g hamburger for 6 Euro was tasty and a good pick. The fish was just okay, and half cold, as if it had come straight from the microwave. For the limited options in town, it's an okay restaurant.

The hotel's service was simply amazing, and it was a pleasure to stay there. It's a nice spot for dinner and drinks with friends. Monfrague's park is a natural hereditage, with amazing views across the landscape of Extramadura.

My favorite place. Rafa, the owner, is the heart of the community and an excellent chef, and he knows everything you need to know. This is THE neighborhood pub in the heart of Monfrague, classic Extremaduran Spain. The food and the people are great.
