The staff were warm and attentive, and made me feel like a guest rather than just a room number. The food was another highlight, with lots of fresh choices at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so the buffet didn’t get repetitive. Sol Principe has a great spot right on the promenade, with the Mediterranean just outside. It has that unusual mix of lively resort and comfortable seaside home. My room was clean and comfy, and the daily housekeeping did a stellar job. There were a few minor signs of wear, but comfort was high. I also enjoyed the heated indoor pool as a quiet place for a swim, and the lobby bar was lively and nice for a drink. There are tiny cosmetic flaws, but the location, food, and kind team make this a gem on the Costa del Sol.

The restaurant staff here are the best I’ve come across in all my travels. So kind, open, and helpful every time, and I never experienced any rudeness from them. I’ll miss this hotel. God bless your work, friends! ❤️❤️❤️🌟

The noise from the work was very loud, and Jet2 never mentioned in the email that renovations were going on. If I’d known, I would have changed hotels. We arrived around 1:30 and were told our room wouldn’t be ready for two hours. They conveniently offered a sea-view upgrade for another 105 euros, which we accepted so we could settle in. Wrong choice. In room 1514, the best view was of another part of the hotel under renovation. While making tea, I saw strange bubbles come out of the kettle when it boiled. Then, sitting on the balcony, I saw a worker from the renovation standing on a balcony with binoculars, looking toward ours and the other balconies on that side. Around 3 in the morning, sparks came from the ceiling spotlight and the power went out, even though the fuse box seemed fine. I told reception about everything the next morning, but so far I haven’t received an apology or anything.

The staff were good, and by European standards, really good, even if not quite Asia-level. The receptionists speak fluent English, though knowing a little Spanish will get you a long way. We had a relaxing, lovely week and would come back ❤️ The breakfast had plenty of options every morning, and the smoothies and range of drinks and cocktails were great. I even tried my first bloody mary here. The outdoor pools were beautiful, and I liked that smoking was allowed outdoors and on the balcony. There are nice restaurants just 250 metres away. Designer Outlet Málaga and Plaza Mayor are both about 3 km away, and a taxi costs only 9 euro. The gym is nice but basic, with light dumbbells and running and cycling machines, no barbells or heavy weights. Just watch out for the workers driving forklifts fast outside the hotel.
