Sleep was really difficult here in June. The street stays very noisy until about midnight, and the rooms get hot with no air conditioning or fan. There’s no Wi-Fi and nowhere to wash clothes either. The one handy thing is the grocery store right next door, plus a cafe that serves dinner at 8. With so many albergues in Tui, I’d choose one of those instead. I can’t imagine how uncomfortable this would be in July or August.

There wasn’t even warm water for a shower, and we found water on the bathroom floor when we got up. The rooms have nothing in them, not even glasses or cutlery, and there’s no kitchen area. I wouldn’t recommend it.

There’s no proper reception, just a door code sent by message, and the place feels pretty creepy after a certain hour. It’s visibly old, and the facilities don’t really work. There’s no Wi-Fi, kitchen, or even a desk to sit at. With no air conditioning or anything else to cool the room, the heat made it a nightmare. That was my worst night on the Camino so far.

We had a superb dinner cooked and served by our host, with good wine too. It was my first taste of Galician food, and I really enjoyed it. Breakfast was a different matter: coffee and a huge croissant that fell apart when I used my fork. The room was tiny and basic, but did the job for one night. The bathroom looked recently renovated and was very clean. They were good people to stay with.

The noise from cars came right into the room, and there were only three power outlets. There was no kitchen, washing machine, or breakfast. For €15, I got one bed in a room shared with 12 people and just one toilet. I’m fine sharing with a crowd, but there should be enough toilets and showers. Other places had several of each. This was the last bed available when I got to Tui on the Camino de Santiago, otherwise I wouldn’t have chosen it. Way too expensive for what you get, and the worst place on my trip. Awful!
