Palacio de Úbeda is a magnificent 5-star hotel, richly decorated, which houses one of the main architectural treasures of Ubeda and Jaen; the former palace of the Condes de Guadiana, representing the Andalusian Renaissance. It was built in the sixteenth century and it's located in the heart of the city. The hotel has 37 rooms, including two stunning master suite, which are in a spectacular tower and eight luxury suites. The outside of the palace is stunning and wonderfully old, and our room looked out over the courtyard. Inside, it was huge, with a comfortable sofa, a massive bed and soft pillows, plus a deep bath right in the bedroom. The towels and robes felt luxurious, and even the toilet seat was heated. They welcomed us at reception with bubbles. I left my new furry pashmena in the bar, and they brought it back to reception for me. Such good service. I had a great stay and will definitely return.

The rooms were spacious, romantic, and clearly arranged with guests in mind, and I really liked the design. It seems to sit on top of an older structure. The place had lovely energy, and the breakfast was extremely tasty. When we arrived at night, a polite gentleman welcomed us. Leaving was less pleasant: after paying 25 euros for a night's parking, we had to find our way out through narrow side streets, and the woman at reception was grumpy.

Right in the old part of Ubeda, this is a beautiful hotel with magnificent rooms and a really quiet, relaxing feel. The city has lots to see and is a UNESCO Heritage site.

When I got sick during our tour, everyone here was so kind and arranged a nonsmoking taxi driver for the long trip to Granada. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, with nice beds. The staff were friendly, and the location is perfect. It's a special place.

There was lots of black mold in the shower, and the pool area was dirty and totally rundown. I was ashamed they were offering it to hotel guests. After my husband asked the waitress to take away the wilted flowers, they eventually removed them from the table. There didn't seem to be enough staff, and the bar and lunch area had no charm. If there's no room to park in front when you arrive to check in, you have to drive around Ubeda. In our view, this isn't a five-star hotel, more like four stars or less.
