Hotel Ciudad De Ubeda

The location makes it easy to get around and find parking. The staff are very accommodating.

The meals I had were good quality and very reasonably priced. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and Ubeda is easy to reach from this well-situated hotel with adequate parking. There's also more parking in a garage for an extra charge. A very economical place to stay.

During my work trip, this was the most heartwarming stay I've had so far. The waiters remembered my name from the first day, and I felt at home among friends. Every morning the sunrise greeted me, with a marvelous view of the olive fields from the upper floor. Úbeda and its people will stay in my heart forever.

The hotel's location was awkward for me. It's an 800 m walk from the Ubeda bus station, in the opposite direction from town, so getting into town each day takes about 20 minutes. I arrived before check-in and the woman at reception immediately said she couldn't help. I only wanted to leave my luggage there. The WiFi was a joke. I had to do my travel planning in the lobby because the signal in the room was very weak. I saw a guy trying to work on his laptop there while it was cold and rainy outside, with kids playing ball indoors around him. If you need WiFi or have work to do, this isn't the place. The hotel needs a major technology upgrade and renovation. My room had no coffee machine, no reading lamp, and very few outlets. There was a nice chair by the window, but no light to read by at night. The bathroom was dirty, with brown grout throughout, and water wouldn't drain in either the shower or sink. The room felt like a random collection of things: wine glasses were in the bathroom for brushing your teeth? I'd stay closer to town somewhere with better WiFi.
