Getting there was stressful from the start. I’d told them my flight was landing late, but they wouldn’t let me in after 1 a.m. I felt dismissed instead of helped. In my experience, the owner’s communication was very rude and unprofessional, and at times felt like harassment. The woman at the property later tried to make things better, but by then the stress and bad first impression were already there. The apartment itself didn’t impress me for cleanliness or amenities, and even the basic standards felt lacking. The location was fairly good. There was also a deposit tied to following the house rules. At checkout, when I was supposed to get it back if I’d behaved well, I was again spoken to in a very disrespectful, unprofessional way. I wasn’t allowed to leave my luggage before check-in, even though other guests seemed to be able to. Staff were onsite early in the morning, and my room should have been empty since I was checking in a full day later, but they still refused an early check-in. The explanations didn’t make sense to me, and I felt there was no willingness to cooperate or understand. I contacted Booking several times and filed a claim about the unprofessional behaviour. From the first messages until I finally checked in, the whole process was exhausting and deeply disappointing. Simple hospitality, which I thought was standard, was missing. Based on my experience, I absolutely wouldn’t recommend Arts and Flats. No traveller should have to go through that.

I was genuinely happy with my stay in the apartment in Denia, so I wanted to leave a review even though people seem to post only when they have complaints. It was clean, everything was in good shape, the location was excellent, and the price felt fair for what you get. It has a pool, tennis court, free parking, and the beach right beside it. There’s also a lovely 40-minute walk along the beach to the centre of Denia. I stayed there a while back and wanted to book again, but couldn’t find the listing. Luckily I’d saved Tony’s number, the guy with the keys, and he kindly sent me the link. The apartment was already booked for my vacation dates, so I couldn’t get it this time. Tony was very friendly and attentive to every detail, and the office was smooth and professional to deal with. I’d really like to come back.

I was there on a business trip and left the hostel on the 3rd of September, but I’m still waiting for an invoice. I contacted Booking customer service, though I’m nearly out of hope that I’ll get it. The place itself was much worse than the pictures on Booking and elsewhere suggest. It was dirty throughout, and the linen and towels smelled bad. The AC had black marks like mold and didn’t blow cold air. The showers felt like a sauna, there were no windows in the whole WC, and there was nowhere to put dry clothes except inside the shower. The photos make it look cosy and nice, which is very misleading.

I spent four nights there, but slept outside on the last one. The room smelled awful, there were bed bugs everywhere, and they wouldn’t move us even when we asked. The bathrooms were so hot it was hard to stay in them. One of the worst stays I’ve had. I’d look for another B&B.

Our double room was really spacious, and the hostel is very central. The market hall is three minutes away, with lots of sights within walking distance. But the bedding wasn’t clean enough for us: we found stains and long hairs in the bed. We were right next to the bathroom, so could hear the toilet flush, taps running, and showers being used.
