Casa Bassa Hotel

The staff are lovely and the hotel itself is very nice, but the nearby beach nightclub stays open until 3:30 in the morning. Unless you can't hear it or have really good headphones, sleep is out of the question until around 3:45. The hotel should invest in better double glazing because it's almost impossible to get to sleep. I had more bookings planned for later in the year, but I've cancelled them all.

I was in Room 211 from November 12 to 15, and developed several bites during and after the stay. A dermatologist said the pattern was consistent with bed bug bites. I sent the hotel photos and the medical report, but they wouldn't accept responsibility or even acknowledge that there might be a problem. The way they handled it felt dismissive and unprofessional. After this experience, I can't recommend staying here.

Room 109 had a patio overlooking the beach, and the room itself was clean and spacious. Breakfast came with the stay and was excellent too. It's right on the beach, and I'd stay here again.

The location beside the beach is handy for beach lovers, and getting to the city center by public transport is easy. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, and the decor is pretty. Those were the good parts. Our room had a beach view, but we hadn't been told about the open-air beach club about 200 meters away. It played loud music every night until 4 am, so sleeping with the windows open was impossible. With them closed, we could still feel the bass through the room. The smoke machines were so loud they scared our four-year-old. I've never slept so badly on a vacation. The rooms look nice and are well equipped, but ours was tiny. Housekeeping wasn't thorough: the terrace wasn't cleaned once, and dirty dishes were left there. Breakfast was included, though the food quality seemed like the restaurant was cutting corners. The staff there were very friendly. I wouldn't recommend this for a family looking for a relaxing break. Partygoers may like it. For the price, it wasn't good value, and we wish we'd been warned about the club beforehand.
