It’s a very basic hostal, and for the low price you get your own bathroom and a spot right in the middle of the old town. I was glad to have my own space. The employee seemed to live there and was always watching for people coming in. You don’t get a front door key, but he opens it when you ring, and he was friendly. I felt safe, and liked having someone around to prevent problems like people bringing others to rooms or sleeping in the hallway. You can hear other guests, though that’s common in buildings in Spain. It isn’t the cleanest. There’s mold on the shower curtain, which I didn’t use, and lots of things could be cleaner. The sheets and beds look old and dirty, but as others have said, I saw piles of sheets in the hall in the morning and he does change them. Don’t expect luggage storage or other services. There’s wifi, but I didn’t try it. Rooms can’t be locked from inside because they open with a tag, not a key.

They’re updating the old building, and the location was perfect. We had AC, and Rafael was amazing, always available and so accommodating. He looked after what we needed, kept our luggage, and gave back the things we’d accidentally left in the room.

No air con in the rooms, but they provide a fan. The staff were lovely, and helped me so much when I was struggling with my luggage. I can’t thank them enough. It’s right in the middle of Valencia, a lovely no-frills place if you just need a room while you enjoy the city.

We booked a room but couldn’t stay because its condition was unacceptable and the smell was horrible. The room with the bed didn’t look like the photos. Dirty sheets had been left in the common hall, our bedsheet had a yellowish stain, and the bed frame was rusty. Neither Booking nor the hotel owner gave me any refund for this horrible experience at 70 EURO per night.

We had such a great time in Valencia! The owner was friendly and very available, and the rooms were comfortable and a good size. The location is excellent, right in the center and directly opposite the Mercado Central.
