Parque Central Ruzafa

The staff were great, and the bar’s €14.50 bottle of white wine was a bargain. Good value for money. We did ask the cleaner to come back later because we weren’t ready to go out. When we returned that night, the room still hadn’t been cleaned.

We paid €19 for a late checkout, and it was worth it. The hotel is about a 15-minute trip into the heart of Valencia. It sits by a very busy roundabout, but shutting the windows kept it from being much of an issue, and watching Spanish driving was fascinating. The DANA storms were going on, but the hotel kept running normally. The room and bathroom were spacious, with everything we needed. The cleaners did an excellent job and the room was spotless. There’s also a free safe in the room. Breakfast was a decent buffet, plus about eight specials you could order. The downstairs reception bar had a good choice of food and drinks at reasonable prices compared with the UK. A very friendly hotel.

My first two visits were great. Even though I’d booked a standard room, they provided slippers and bathrobes, which made a really good impression. But the third stay was disappointing: there was no welcome bottle of water, no slippers, and not even an extra roll of toilet paper. We asked at reception and were told the disposable slippers cost 3 euros. They said to go back to our room because everything would be brought up shortly, but the slippers never arrived. The staff were terrible overall, and I won’t be returning.

I waited for more than an hour, and got nothing but excuses that it wasn’t their problem. Staff said it would be “resolved” and then left me to sort it out myself, without handling the situation or even trying to make me comfortable. It was a complete management failure, with no responsibility or effort to help a guest. Totally unprofessional. Please replace the amateurs in management. This behavior is unacceptable, and I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.
