Valencia itself was great, and the Botanico location was well placed. But this was one of the weaker apartments from our Spanish trip, and a disappointment. We were there on the fourth floor in May 2022 with our 18-month-old son. The apartment photographs looked lovely, but in person it felt dated and run down. The internet signal was weak, likely because the router was on the ground floor. A living room window wouldn't shut, the balcony smelled from the drainage, the bathroom smelled awful, and there were exposed cables in the bedroom. These seemed like simple things for maintenance to fix, but the place didn't feel set up to make guests comfortable. Check-in was bumpy too. We were first sent the office address instead of the apartment address. We had to chase the team at SingularStays for the check-in link and arrival information. Once we were at the right place, the check-in itself went fine. More frustrating was how slowly they responded to guest questions. The apartment came across as poorly managed and half-heartedly organized. If we return, we'd probably spend our money elsewhere, somewhere we feel welcome, instead of staying with singular stays again.

I got sick during this stay, and it ruined my vacation. On the first day, I waited until 15:00 because of a cleaning delay, but when I entered at 15:15, the room still wasn't ready. The cleaning lady had left the air conditioning on its coldest setting. At 22:00 the room felt like a fridge. It wasn't warm outside, so I opened the window and waited outdoors until 23:00, but the room stayed cold. I tried switching the air conditioning to heat, but it only had a cold setting. There wasn't a warm blanket in the wardrobe, so I had nothing to cover myself with. I used pillows, couldn't sleep, and woke up with a sore throat. I asked for a blanket the next day, but by then I was already ill. Back in Milan, I had a temperature of 38°C and had to cancel important work appointments and stay home. It caused me a lot of problems. Why was there no warm blanket, and why was the cold air conditioning running in October? One other thing to know: reaching the apartment means crossing an unsafe area. It may be fine in the morning, but in the evening I definitely needed a taxi. Taxis in Valencia aren't expensive, so that didn't affect my one-star rating, but potential guests should know.

My experience in Spain was ruined.

For almost €100 a night, this place was horrible. It's tiny and smelly, and there’s no sound insulation, so you can clearly hear people in the other rooms. The entrance door is loud too, meaning you hear everyone coming into the building all night. It doesn't look like the online photos. Don't trust the high Booking.com rating, or you'll feel scammed.

The location was perfect, but everything else made the €175-per-night price terrible value. At €50, it might have been okay. The bed was the worst part: it sagged badly in the sleeping area and made it hard to rest. A bathroom tap leaked onto the plastic shower tray, making an incredibly loud dripping sound. There's a microwave for heating food, but no chairs to sit and eat it. There were other things they should sort out if they're charging four-star hotel rates: sheets and pillowcases that didn't cover the whole bed, dampness, a bathroom door that wouldn't close properly, exposed wires, and lights that didn't work. I really wouldn't recommend it unless you have no other option, haha.
