Zerka Centro

The location is the one good thing about ZERKA Centro-1c, right in the center with cafes and restaurants all around. The rest of the stay was disappointing. Although the apartment had air conditioning, it was very dirty, so we didn’t dare use it in case we got sick. It also wasn’t working properly. We ended up sleeping in a cold apartment, so don’t count on the AC in winter even though it’s advertised. The bed was very uncomfortable and squeaked whenever we moved. The sofa was dirty, there was no duvet or blanket, and the building was noisy enough that we could hear everyone clearly. There was just one mirror, in the bathroom. Adding one in the bedroom would be an easy improvement. There were also no hooks or rack for coats, and the sofa was awkwardly placed with no power outlet nearby. Not having a reception was inconvenient, and we couldn’t leave our luggage in the building. There’s a locker from 5 euros at C/ Músico Peydró, 4, 46001, Valencia, but the place opposite the apartment isn’t open all day for storage. It seemed odd that they asked us for our ID documents in advance, since Booking.com doesn’t mention that. The Christmas markets weren’t open all day and weren’t anything special. For taxis, I recommend Cabify. The drivers were friendly, and the app clearly shows the fare beforehand.

The location is okay, but customer service didn’t answer our questions. There were four of us, including two kids. The master bedroom was fine, but there was nothing to cover us with in the living room. I asked for something many times, and we ended up using bathroom towels. A big minus for the accommodation.

Our stay was really bad, and this apartment was a huge disappointment. The photos online didn’t match what we found: old doors, locks that didn’t work well, damaged walls and water leaking from the ceiling. There was no WiFi in the apartment, only in the hallway. The manager also didn’t respond to any of our concerns. I’m surprised by the positive reviews, they don’t seem real. I hope this helps someone avoid the same experience.

The location is ideal, but everything else was terrible: nasty, noisy, uncomfortable and in poor shape. Don’t trust ratings on other platforms, these ones seem much closer to the real deal.
