The heating is controlled centrally for all the rooms, so if yours is too hot, you're stuck with it. They told me to open the window, which faces one of Valladolid's main roads. I was travelling in a group, and this was the one complaint we all kept coming back to. The quality of sleep was zero. I hope I never have to stay here again.

The location is the one thing that keeps this from an even lower rating. The lobby is beautiful and the staff were friendly when we arrived, but the stay was disappointing. There's no gym, and the pool water was green. During my five summer days there I didn't see anyone use it, and I don't blame them. The breakfast buffet was quite pricey for the limited choice. The silverware was often still dirty, and items ran out and took a long time to be replenished. The bigger problem was the air conditioning. Guests can't adjust it, and it never cooled the room enough for comfortable sleep in summer. It also broke completely for two days. Even after it was fixed, it didn't make much difference. In my opinion, that's unacceptable. Guests should be able to set the air conditioning to a temperature they can sleep in. For the record, I weigh 150 pounds, so I'm not some obese person complaining.

The reception staff were friendly, but parking was a real letdown. We chose the hotel because it had parking, only to find it was full. Finding a public spot nearby was tough too. After circling for 20 minutes, we gave up and parked a 20 minute walk away. It didn't feel like a 4 star experience.

The staff were really kind and helpful, and their parking advice worked perfectly for us. We stayed for 2 nights, and the spacious room and wide, comfortable beds made it well worth it. Breakfast had a tasty range of options. The pastries weren't as good as the rest, though. I'd definitely stay here again.
