Apartamentos Casa Rural Guadá

We had serious problems with the management company. When a friend's accommodation fell through, we let him sleep on the sofa for one night. Right away, we got an email demanding €50 to be paid into a private account, more than we were paying per person each night. They threatened to throw us out if we didn't pay immediately. One of us is Spanish and called the company to try to reason with them. The woman was threatening, accused us of lying, said the €50 was a fine, and was generally unpleasant. In the end, we asked to speak to the owner, a local older woman. She told us she charged only €10 per night for an extra person and didn't have fines. We paid her €50 for two nights because we wanted to show we were acting in good faith. We suspect the management company targets tourists who don't speak the language and pockets most of the fine, since the owner hadn't received it. Speaking directly to her seemed to worry them so much that the head office in Madrid called us. The whole situation was upsetting and worrying for the owner. We also repeatedly reported major leaks coming from above into one of the bedrooms, but nothing was done.
