El Refugio - Solo Adultos

We didn't stay at the hotel since it was fully booked when we passed, but we stopped for the buffet breakfast while walking the Camino. It was incredible, really cheap, delicious and had lots of variety. We ate plenty and were glad to have a full stomach before the long walk that day. The staff were so friendly and kind. The place looked beautiful and very clean, and I wish we'd been able to stay. Fellow hikers, get breakfast here and you'll be set for the day. Big thanks to this hotel, we appreciate you! 💪👌

The shared room was leaking from several spots in the ceiling while it rained. I liked the hotel's idea and the rooms' Gran Canary-style furniture and decorations, but tiny ants seemed to be coming from under the windowsill. They swarmed my backpack where I had lollipops, which really put a damper on our stay.

I never got to stay here. The website showed rooms available, but three different cards were rejected more than six times. I emailed to ask about getting a room that night; they read it and never replied. After a very frustrating process, I called and was told everything was full, even though the site still showed availability.

The hotel sits high in the mountains, right along the Camino, so walkers are always passing by. During the tail end of the storm, the area was pretty wet and landslides affected the road up. The roads are narrow, though two cars can just about pass. We stayed a week, found the rooms comfortable, and enjoyed the included breakfast with its hot and cold choices. We also had dinner one night and liked both the selection and the service.
