Sara, the owner, welcomed us warmly and was happy to share tips on restaurants and places to visit. Our accommodation was tidy and clean when we arrived, with a lovely little courtyard and a small pool just outside our room. It's well maintained and only a short walk from the village centre, so the location was perfect.

La Galbana is now managed by the wonderful Califa hotel. The setting is very peaceful, with a swimming pool, excellent facilities, lovely views, and great staff.

When I first stayed here in September 2015, in upstairs apartment number 7, I was delighted. The place was charming and clean, with wonderful views. Everything looked lovely then: the white paint, cared-for plants, perfect garden furniture, and magnificent bougainvillea beside the pool. Coming back now, I was saddened by how much it has deteriorated. Paint is peeling and needs refreshing, the plants are wilted, and the bougainvillea has dried out. The apartment itself was very clean, but the curtains were torn, some outdoor chairs and cushions were broken, and the once-running fountain is now neglected and no longer works. It's a real shame, because it could all be so beautiful.
