Hosteria del Mudejar Avila

The air conditioning wasn’t working!!!

Edgar looked after us throughout the stay and was polite, friendly, and very professional. We were even able to arrive early on Friday and leave on Sunday afternoon. The place has so many possibilities, whether for a celebration, an event, or a relaxing retreat. We held our mother’s 90th birthday there with 23 adults and 3 children. Everyone fit comfortably in the spacious, clean rooms, each with a private bathroom, and two rooms had whirlpool tubs. There’s an industrial kitchen with all the utensils we needed, a big living room, several sitting rooms including one with a fireplace, and a garden with a pool and bar. A downstairs room let us keep celebrating without disturbing anyone. Thank you for sharing in one of the most important days of our lives and making it possible for my mother to enjoy it with her whole family.

The place is not fit to stay in right now. There was no hot water, and even with hot water there would have been no pressure. There was no heating either. The kitchen was unsanitary, and the whole house was filthy. The closets had cobwebs and dust inside, and the pool area was worse. There was no internet, and the refrigerators, dishwasher, and everything else were absolutely filthy, and that’s putting it mildly. The owners know about the situation, but we’ve had no reply and no compensation. I hope they manage to fix these problems.

It’s a converted 10-room hotel, with en-suite bathrooms, a pool, and a spacious patio. The airy dining room is large, and there’s plenty of patio space for meals too. The lounge by the pool is well equipped, with a bar area and even an optional beer tap. Amazing. You can order food nearby as well. We’ll be back!
