The room was clean, the service was great, and the restaurant food was delicious, though breakfast was very basic. We slept really well and had a fantastic view. I came just after Christmas with my girlfriend: I wanted to do some star photography, she wanted to see castles, and we both wanted good food. We also really enjoyed eating in the village. My only regret is that I couldn't speak Spanish to communicate better with all the lovely people I met.

I booked at the last minute, so my room had no view, unlike the spectacular ones my friends got. It was small but fine for one person, and probably okay for two. The TV worked and had the main local channels, the bed suited me, and everything seemed clean. Toiletries in the bathroom were very basic. The staff seem nice so far, and the hotel has a rustic feel, run in an old-fashioned way.

Our room was quiet and had far-reaching views from a narrow balcony. Beds were very firm, there was no hairdryer or fridge, the Wi-Fi was very poor, and mobile reception inside the hotel was weak. The busy bar and restaurant was popular, with traditional Spanish dishes and pavement seating. Breakfast was basic but acceptable. It's a short walk into the village, and parking is right outside.

I've only eaten here, not stayed overnight. The food was excellent, and the service was friendly, helpful, and prompt. My companions loved the lamb cutlets and beef, while I particularly recommend the Iberico Ham and Tuna in a Soya and Mustard sauce. The homemade Tiramisu was just perfect, and the bill was very reasonable for the quality and amount served. The restaurant has kept its traditional style, making it an interesting, cozy place. The one downside was that quite a few starters weren't available. I understand keeping the full high-season menu out of season may not make sense, but it might be better to have a separate menu listing only what's available. Thank you, Señor, for a really enjoyable experience.

The food here is fabulous, especially the beef dishes. Their steak is literally one of the best I've ever had, and the pork is good too. The cafe con leches are delicious, and the orange juice is super sweet and fresh. The lobsters, though, are about the size of crawfish and arrive on a plate with no tools to crack them, so you're left to figure it out yourself. No thanks! The place is gorgeous inside and out, and the view of Velez Blanco and the white mountains is fabulous. I'm American and have lived in Europe for a few years. After working in hospitality for much of my adult life back home, I still find the style of service in Europe a culture shock. At almost every place I've eaten, people get ignored, don't get refills, and plates aren't cleared. This place was one of the exceptions. They take good care of you, are professional but still nice, and check in from time to time to see if you need anything. You have to eat here if you're ever in the area.
