The staff were friendly and worked hard, and the rooms were comfortably sized. The hotel sits on the main road through town, directly opposite Monastery Ruins, which makes for a perfect location. We ate both lunch and dinner there, but the set menu was the same each time and every plate came out at room temperature. The Wi-Fi didn’t work in the rooms, and staff didn’t resolve the problem.

The breakfast was okay, though nothing special. I was upgraded to a room with a jacuzzi, which I really needed after a long day on the Camino. When I had to leave, engineers were working on the lift, so I walked down three flights of stairs. Usually that wouldn’t bother me, but after several days on the Camino, I could have done without it.

The location was perfect, and the pilgrim meal in the restaurant was wonderful. Our room and bed were very comfortable, and everyone on staff we met was kind, cheerful, and helpful. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. I can’t think of anything else negative to say.

The hotel restaurant served what may have been the best meal I’ve ever had in Europe, and I’ve eaten at a lot of fine dining places across Europe. The staff were incredible, welcoming, and helpful. It’s ideally located for the Camino, and I loved the hotel’s history and architecture. The beds were acceptable, though not as nice as I’d hoped.
