In room 601, water began dripping straight onto my legs in the middle of the night. I don't know what kind of water it was, which made it even more disturbing. We left the room immediately because of how serious it was. We were told at the time that we'd be compensated, but now we're being asked for evidence of what happened. That's unreasonable: an employee saw it firsthand, and documenting it wasn't my priority during the incident. The whole thing was disgusting, and the way it was dealt with afterward was very poor. I'd give the hotel zero stars if I could.

My main complaint is the terrace. Don't be misled by the photos of it here and on Hotel com, because guests can't use it. Showing those pictures is misleading.

The bed was comfortable, and there was a lounge in the lobby. The hosts were kind and efficient, but the place lacked that worn-in Camino warmth that can make tired pilgrims feel welcome. The building is old and it shows: the bathroom was musty and had no ventilation, and the elevator closed abruptly and roughly, like a drunk hug that wouldn't let go. It felt tired and in need of a fresh wind, though it wasn't terrible. Pilgrims may want to keep going to somewhere the Camino glow still lingers.

A friend suggested this hotel, and I'm glad they did. The reception team were the best, and the service deserves more stars than I can give it. They offered me an excellent price and an early check-in, looked after the bar so I could have beer and coffees with friends, kept my luggage after checkout, and helped with directions. I can't express how grateful I am.

The location couldn't be better, and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast had plenty of choices, including soya milk and whole grain bread, which I appreciated. There were four of us, and our room was huge, with a fully equipped kitchen. It was amazing, clean, and had a terrace.
