Casa Torres

The area is very quiet, and we really liked the little porch. The house is well placed, with Vila de Cruces close by and the basic amenities covered. Overall, I would recommend it, and I hope the owners take this as a suggestion for improvement. The advertised scenery didn’t match what we found: there’s no green space, and the neighboring meadow is overgrown. Maintenance is badly needed, as the owners already know. The semi-basement room shouldn’t be in use. Even in good weather, the walls, including the stone, were so damp they felt almost unsanitary. We had to leave the door open all day to sleep at night because the damp smell was unbearable. There weren’t enough seats at the table for the full 12-14 guests, so we had to eat in shifts. I also think the sheets and towels need replacing.

We had a fantastic time in this country house. The rooms are spacious, and the location is exceptional if you want to get away from it all. The hosts are friendly and easy to communicate with. Some furniture and appliances are dated, but they all work perfectly.

I’m loving this place. It’s absolutely beautiful, and would be great for a weekend or even a whole month.

Lovely setting and hospitable people. The house itself is very nice, though all the furnishings are really old.
