Hotel Las Terrazas

We were visiting the pretty town of Tazones and chose to eat here for the rice dishes. The menu for two with seafood paella and the one with rice and lobster both came with wine, Iberian ham and croquettes as appetizers. The ham and croquettes were very good, and the portions of rice were generous. I preferred the seafood paella, as the lobster rice was rather bland.

The town was okay, though it’s tiny and there isn’t much to do, haha. I was here alone for one night and couldn’t figure out how to sort things out 🥹. People may be nice to you, but that doesn’t mean you’ll get any rest. The hotel was so noisy, it was awful.

The staff were excellent, and the seafood was really good quality and served very well. Of the places in Tazones, this one seemed the most complete: they list the price and portion for each kind of seafood, and the other places offer the same amounts at the same prices. This was the only one that included a drink and dessert, too.

The food was delicious and plentiful, and a little cheaper than at the other places nearby, though the north is expensive. The waiters were all incredibly friendly, hardworking, and happy to explain anything we asked. Breakfast was included, with capsule coffee and a small packet of cookies, which was much appreciated since no other bar opens before 11:00 am. Their bar and restaurant opens then, while the rest of the town’s bars and restaurants wait until 12:00 pm. We stayed four nights and found it super clean and quiet at night. The cleaning lady is lovely. If we come back to the area, we’ll definitely stay with you again. It’s a perfect spot to relax and switch off.
