NH Canciller Ayala Vitoria

The rooms and hotel have a nice interior, and the location is very central. There’s also parking for cars. But the reception staff left a bad impression. The male employee with white hair, around 175 cm tall, handled both our check-in and check-out and kept making fun of everything we asked about. It felt disrespectful and unprofessional.

For two years in a row I paid 55€ for a vegetarian menu that was awful: plain white rice with chopped raw pepper and no sauce, chickpeas straight from a jar, then fruit for dessert. I’ve been vegetarian for 13 years and haven’t had a meal with so little care. I went home hungry and ate leftovers, which were better even cold. If you’re vegetarian or have other dietary needs, I’d avoid this place. My workplace uses the NH hotel for events, but I’ll try to steer them somewhere else this year. I emailed management because I was so upset by the quality, and never got a reply. Shameful.

Breakfast was good, and the front desk staff were good too, but the hotel doesn’t feel like four stars. The location is nice, right across from Florida park. Cleanliness was very poor, with stains even on the pillows. There were no amenities in the room at all: no coffee machine, tea, complimentary water, iron, or slippers for the hardwood floor. It was noisy too, we could hear every sound and movement from upstairs and the next room.

We stayed here for a night while driving from England to Lisbon. The room was spacious and nice, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was good as well. Parking outside was difficult and expensive, and if you use the hotel’s own parking, you have to pay separately.
