The one thing I really hated was the live-animal welfare. They keep a tank of live crabs and lobsters until someone chooses one to be scalded to death. I think that's extremely cruel, especially when the fish market is only a ten-minute drive away and they could get fresh seafood each day or to order. Apart from that, the hotel service was great. The staff were brilliant and friendly, and the room was comfortable, warm, modern, and clean, with lots of complimentary toiletries. The lively bar is worth visiting in the evening to hear the locals come in and put the world to rights. It's all middle-aged men, of course, no women. Delicious, substantial tapas kept coming out of the kitchen, not tiny amuse-bouches but proper party food. Breakfast was substantial too. There's free, safe parking across the road, and the room even had a Nespresso machine or something similar. The bar, food, facilities, room, and staff were all excellent.
