Our room, number 5, felt neglected, though I suppose it may depend on which room you get. It was dated, mouldy, and badly in need of repairs and a deep clean. The towels, sheets, and curtains all had holes, and it didn't feel like the 3-star accommodation we'd paid for. Breakfast was okay, and the outdoor area was pleasant enough for sitting, even though the pool was freezing.

We booked directly in July and tried to cancel two months before our stay, but the hotel wouldn't accept the cancellation without charging the full 100%. Their written policy, which I received by email after booking and attached, says there's a 50% refund up to one week before arrival. I can't say what the hotel itself is like, but their honesty and ethics are in question if they don't follow their own stated policy. Think carefully before booking.

A good base for seeing different parts of the island. The hotel is a short drive from the airport, and each room has an allocated parking spot. The town is about two minutes away by car, with plenty of restaurants and a pharmacy nearby. We stayed three nights in a spacious room. It was a lovely, quiet place, and the included breakfast was simple but had the essentials. I'd stay again, thank you.

I slept badly one night because a nearby restaurant had a party with very loud music until 3 in the morning. It was quiet on the other days, but a good night's rest matters most to me, so that's why I gave three stars. The bed didn't help: its mattress felt like metal honeycomb with only a thin layer of fabric, as if it needed another small mattress or a box spring. Otherwise, it's a nice little hotel. The staff and owner were friendly, breakfast had a good selection, the small pool was nice, the room was cleaned daily, and the shower got properly hot.

The room had a pleasant view, and the place sits in a beautiful spot on the outskirts of Yaiza. I liked the unusual mix of Canarian architecture and funky art, and the nightly rate made it excellent value. Arriving at noon was a horror, though. The house seemed deserted in an isolated area, with nobody answering the bell or phone. No one had told me that check-in was handled at its sister hotel, La Casona de Yaiza, at the other end of town. That's an inconvenient, unfriendly way to start a stay. Once contacted, the staff were friendly and responsive to the problems I had.
