Volcan y Mar

The pool was smaller than it looked in the photos, and it’s shared by three apartments, with a section for kids. We paid £120 per day and felt the accommodation was good for that price. It had the equipment we needed, including a fan. Getting into the city took about 30 minutes, and public transport options were limited, so we rented a car. There wasn’t much nearby for shopping, just a petrol station.

The owner kept in touch and shared suggestions for things to do. The place itself felt new and was clean, with lots of things close by. We’d happily return.

I loved the apartment. It was beautiful, well located, and a good price.

The room was cold and damp, which felt unsuitable for our one-year-old, and water leaked in, soaking the curtain and leaving the floor wet and slippery overnight. There were also dirty pots and pans and clogged drains. Casa Volcán y Mar knew from the start that we were traveling with our baby, but the stay was still a very negative and disappointing experience. We lost power for about an hour and got no help. There were no candles or flashlights, and nobody answered the emergency phone line. We couldn’t heat milk for our son or shower, and the situation was really distressing. We had to locate the electricity meters ourselves, and a neighbor lent us tools so we could try to sort it out. For more than 48 hours we tried to reach the manager and received no response, not even a call. No one from the accommodation showed concern, and we weren’t offered a solution or compensation. I’ve never posted a negative review or made a complaint before, but this was serious and undeniable. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, especially with young children.
