Casa Rural el Castillico

Nice place, though it got really hot in summer because the landlady switches off the air conditioning remotely through her app. She also came into the house several times during our two-day stay to take care of things. I don’t think it’s normal to rent a house and have the owner come in to water plants while you’re there.

Sleeping in a little castle was such an interesting experience, and the apartment itself was lovely and well priced. We were there for a festival and got a wonderfully friendly welcome. They showed us how to keep the place cool, and it worked even in the middle of August. In summer, I’d recommend going up the tower at night to see the stars. I was delighted with our stay.

The outdoor space is fine for a barbecue, but the house is short on practical things. There’s no proper lock on the bathroom, and the upstairs bedrooms have no bathroom, so using one means tackling an impossible staircase. The wardrobe in the bedroom is tiny, and there isn’t a clothes rack.
