The people at reception were lovely, and the little extra touch with the stamp was nice. The place itself feels worn, though, with peeling paint. The kitchen has no sink, and both the fridge and microwave were dirty. There’s no laundry on site, so you have to use a laundromat. Wifi was very weak at some of the beds. It could use some care.

I stayed here while walking the Via de la Plata, and thought it was a very good albergue. Sandra is a wonderful host who takes time to explain things, even when your Spanish isn't great, and she puts a really artistic stamp in your Credencial. The €10 evening meal comes with three courses and a couple of glasses of wine, and everything tasted great. Breakfast is included too, and the kitchen has all the equipment you need.

Sandra is a delight, and the gourmet dinner was excellent. There was a delicious vegetarian choice, artichokes in a lovely cream sauce. But there really needs to be soap at every bathroom sink, especially when a bed costs 15eu. Not being able to wash your hands after using the toilet is a health hazard. Even the nicer albergues and municipals provide soap.

The patio has a very authentic feel, and the albergue itself has plenty of charm despite being in an old convent and needing refurbishment. It’s clearly seen better days. The family running it are kind, and their two children are lovely. Breakfast was included, which was a welcome surprise, and I enjoyed dinner too. Those meals brought pilgrims together: some of us stayed chatting after dinner and sharing Camino experiences, though the Nordic and Anglo guests soon headed to their rooms. There’s also a small bar where you can get coffee whenever you like. The only disappointment was no soap in the bathrooms. I’d recommend giving it a try.

The pilgrim dinner was delicious, and breakfast was very good too. The albergue was clean and well placed. Thanks so much for the hospitality, Sandra. A great stop if you're on the Camino.
