We really liked our four nights here. The room was so comfortable, with a huge bed and plenty of pillows. The owners and staff were friendly, and breakfast had lots of good choices with nice coffee. For food, we especially liked the seafood stew and the homemade ice creams.

I’ve stayed here many times. After landing in Malaga, I head straight to Al Lago for two or three days. The family run place makes you feel like part of the family, and that extends to the staff. The rooms have Moorish styling, and the food mixes international dishes with local produce. The wine list should suit anyone. The views stretch for miles, and both sunrise and sunset are something else. Go enjoy it, and tell them Steve sent you.

A lovely place at the foot of a beautiful village. We stayed for two nights to hike, and the host was very helpful with advice. The staff were friendly, and there’s a cute bar and restaurant.

Al Lago was the best stop on our trip through Seville, Madrid, and Barcelona. The views, service, and food were all 10/10, and even the paperwork was the best I’d had in Spain. We didn’t stay long, but the rooms were 10/10 too, and we’re already planning another European trip just for this place. We were running late, and the chef understood what I needed and drove my wife and me to the bus stop so we wouldn’t miss it. The chef even seemed to have a Midwest accent, so communicating every detail was easy. What a gem. If you come to Spain, come here!

We had dinner at the restaurant one evening and enjoyed the tasty meals and good choice of dishes. The hotel is small and pretty, with a rustic feel and a wonderful view over the lake and mountains. It’s also well placed for exploring by car. Our bedroom was spacious, comfortable, and nicely furnished, and the bathroom was large. The staff were all friendly, especially owner Mona, who made us feel welcome and was very helpful.
