NH Collection Gran Hotel de Zaragoza

The atmosphere was pleasant, the beds were comfortable, and the pillows were especially good. Staff were very pleasant too. We stayed for only two nights and were upgraded to an unattractive junior suite. Staff parked and retrieved our car at a separate facility. There were quite a few steps to navigate on the ground floor, and the elevator was unusually shaped, almost triangular, though technically it has five sides. The foyer is limited, but it was a nice touch to have fruit as well as sweets there.

The cleaning was a total failure again. At check-in they gave me a twin room without asking my bed preference, which seemed surprising for a 4*+ hotel. I asked to switch to a double, only to find that the nice room they'd given me was filthy: the bathroom hadn't been cleaned and the sheets hadn't been changed. Disgusting. See pictures. I went back to reception a second time. They said, "nor our fault, it will be ok," and handed me keys to a miniature room, much smaller than either of the first two. I don't know why they kept punishing me. Later they upgraded me after I said it seemed illogical not to offer some compensation. I also have to mention the bellboy at the entrance, who watched me carry my suitcase up the flight of stairs. He didn't help, open the doors, or greet me. Breakfast wasn't high quality, though it wasn't bad. The juices and fruit were good; the rest was low quality, and the coffee was very bad.

We only had one night here and really wished we could stay longer. The staff were incredibly accommodating and looked after us so well. We couldn’t be happier with the service, and we can’t wait to come back. Just book this hotel!

We had a very comfortable room, and the staff were friendly. The hotel is right in central Zaragoza, which made the location great. I’d recommend it for a stay in the city.
